After being given a tour, taste preview and information, I can truly say that Chick-Fil-A has won over my heart and my taste buds. Chick-Fil-A Goodyear recently invited several bloggers to a preview tasting party, showcasing their new grilled chicken. We were also given a tour of the kitchen, and a chance to meet Cow. Can it get much better than that?
As fun as it was being invited for a preview tasting, the biggest and most important thing that happened that day, was that I realized just what kind of restaurant Chick-Fil-A is. Did you know that unlike a lot of fast food restaurants, Chick-Fil-A makes everything fresh? I had no idea! This was shown in various parts of the kitchen, from the lemonade making station
to the hand breaded chicken area.
We also got to see an area where they create their salads fresh, daily! I get tired of pre-packaged salads that have been sitting in the fridge for several days. It is relieving to know that their salads are always fresh, and can be made to order.
While visiting, I was given a new grilled chicken sandwich to try. I was warned that it would be extra juicy and that is why it has an extra "juice catcher" wrapper. I wasn't prepared for what I tasted. The chicken had a wonderful grilled and seasoned flavor. The juices were dripping out, but it wasn't undercooked. It was perfect! How do they get their chicken so perfect? If you're going to try to duplicate this chicken you will have to work hard to figure out how. Chick-Fil-A had some experts work on developing a new, custom made grill specifically for their use.
Looks fancy, right? I don't think they will be selling at the home stores anytime soon so I guess you will just have to make a trip to Chick-Fil-A to try it. The sandwich is very simple, with just the chicken, lettuce, tomato, and bun. The simplicity is part of the reason it is so good. There aren't too many flavors competing for your attention. If you like sauces on your sandwich, they have a variety to choose from, including an old favorite, the honey roasted barbecue. Another great thing is that this is real chicken. I am a VERY picky meat eater. I don't like meat that has any sort of undesirable texture. If there is fat on it, or gristle, it makes me feel sick. I am not a big fan of meat, so for me to enjoy this sandwich was a big deal. It is quality chicken with major flavor.
Okay, so enough raving about the chicken sandwich. There are other ways to enjoy the new grilled chicken. If you enjoy chicken nuggets but are tired of those breaded and fried chunks of meat, try their grilled nuggets! These are a great option for a kids meal. They are much healthier, and tastier too. You can feel good about what you are feeding your kids! You can also get grilled chicken on a salad, club sandwich, or in a wrap. All of these present delicious options for you and your family. The official launch date for the grilled chicken is April 14, but some locations may have it already available.
While you may not see a dollar menu at Chick-Fil-A, you will always see quality and feel hospitality. You can feel good knowing that you are eating at an establishment that puts your health and happiness first. From the lemonade made with only 3 ingredients (water, sugar, and lemon juice) to the professionally cleaned play places, Chick-Fil-A cares about you. Go out and try their new grilled chicken and you too will be impressed by the taste and quality of their food and kindness of their employees.
